Hello, my name is Robert Velazquez. I'm an Army Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient. I deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 where I sustained my injuries from an IED. After coming home, I joined the Texas National Guard while going to school, however, eventually decided to leave the military behind me. I served for 6 years combined. As many veterans do, I faced several challenges, both mentally and physically. But I met my now wife, Rocio, who was and has been my number one support system through it all. We have been together for 11 years, married for eight, and have two beautiful children, Penelope (5) and Lucas (2). They are my purpose and mean everything to me. I know I can't give them everything they deserve, but I try to give them the best version of myself every single day. This year, my wife and I had multiple conversations about taking our kids to Disneyland, but the chances of us going got slimmer by the day. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we won't be able to go. I'm not one to ask for help, just ask my wife. However, I am now turning to VETTIX and the Hero's Wish Program in hopes that my wish to surprise my family with (3) 2-Day Tickets to Disneyland & California Adventure Park can be granted. My name is Cory Smith and I have been in the Army for 9 years. I am currently on a deployment in Central America. I have been married to my wife for 9 years and we have two amazing kids, a 4 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. This is the first deployment we have gone through and the longest we have ever been apart. My kids have sacrificed so much and my wife has been my greatest supporter. She has held our family together while I've been gone and has taken it in stride. I have missed some major milestones, birthdays, and holidays and would love to surprise my family with a 3 day Universal Studios and Volcano Bay trip with fast passes. Hello my name is Angel. I have been serving in the Army for 15 years. 8 of them were active while the rest in the reserves. I am currently deployed in Iraq and at the tail end of my tour and would love to take my wife and 15 year old son to a surprise visit to six flags. This is my 3rd overseas tour and second combat deployment. During my career in the military I have missed numerous important events including multiple birthdays, anniversaries, and accomplishments. I would love to show my family how much I appreciate them and a fun trip filled with adrenaline rides. Hi, I'm Jeremy. I'm a psychologist in the Air Force and currently at Al Dhafra Air Base. Out here, I'm responsible for the psychological health of around 2000 Soldiers, Airmen, and Marines. I'm also fortunate to lead a team of expeditionary medics, who respond at all hours to medical emergencies. It's both a privilege and meaningful work. Even so, my family could use me at home, and when I finally get there, I'd like to make the reunion special. Your help will make it possible. It was nearly my worst fear. A month after deploying, my home flooded, and my family was displaced. I was and am unable to do much to support them, while the four of them live in a small hotel room awaiting the repairs to be done ...and me to come home. Right now, my children wouldn't even have books or teddy bears if I hadn't been able to send them after they were moved out of the house. I want to do something to surprise them -- something we couldn't do without *your* help. I'd like to get these kids to Disneyland.

Hi, I am Matt, a severely wounded combat veteran of OEF. I lost my right leg to an IED in 2010 in Afghanistan. Though my scars may not be fresh, the wounds have endured. I suffer from PTSD, TBI, and more complications due to the amputation. My wife and I are a family of 8, with 5 boys and 1 girl. A trip for all 8 of us is something we can only dream of. We know that a wish like this would be one that every member of our family would cherish for the rest of their lives. This is a humble request for the once in a lifetime chance for our family of 8 to go on a memorable trip together, create some core memories and enjoy the magic of Disney. For our children, aged 13 to 3, this would be a once in a lifetime experience.

Hello all, My name is Josh. I’ve served in the Air Force for 15 years, with the last five years working as a Program Manager. I am married to my best friend for almost 16 years and we were blessed with four wonderful kids, two girls and two boys, ranging in age from 14 to seven. I am currently deployed to the Middle East while my family serves back home to keep the ship afloat, so to speak. This deployment has asked a lot of the five of them over the past several months and I wanted to express my gratitude to them for going above and beyond, especially my wife, who is the embodiment of servant leadership while I’ve been away. My wife loves to share experiences as a family, and my kids love superhero’s and Harry Potter, so it would be great to treat the four kids to a 3 day Universal Studios - Orlando trip. After being away from each other for so long - missing birthdays, holidays, and first days of high school - sharing this moment together as a family would be a much appreciated time of refocus and reinvigoration. From the bottom of my heart, and my families, I want to thank all the donors who made this trip possible. I never got to experience Disneyland until I was almost an adult, so the "magic" of the "Magic Kingdom" was lost on me. But watching my young kids, wide eyed, meet the characters, ride the attractions and stare up into a brilliant fireworks display really allowed me to see the park through their eyes. Magic is absolutely the perfect term to describe what they were experiencing. These are memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Thank you all so much for helping make this trip a reality! Dear VetTix and Gracious Donors, Thank you so much for granting my wish! It was exactly what the family and I needed to disconnect with the stressors of life and reconnect with each other. I never thought that I would ever be able to take my children to Disney World. Thanks to your generous contributions, I was able to do just that. My kids and I had an amazing time at the most magical place on earth and there's no better season to visit Disney World than right before Christmas. The experience was nothing like I could ever imagine, it was far more than I ever expected. The park was breathtaking, as it was decorated so beautifully. Going to the park allowed us to create memories that will last a life time. Growing up, my family was never able to afford taking me and my brothers to Disney World or Disneyland and I wanted to be able to do things for my children that my family was never able to do for me. I want to help give them the opportunity to grow, travel and experience things that were unattainable for me at my young age. All of which is part of the reason I joined the military, to have a better life than I did, to work hard to remove some of the barriers that made growing up with a single parent, incredibly challenging. You all made it possible for me take my family and as an added bonus, I was able to pay all costs to surprise my mother with the trip as well. My mother has always dreamed of going to Disney World and as mentioned before, she never had the means to make it possible. With careful coordination with her medical care providers, she was approved for the trip and was able to receive treatment just minutes from the park. The trip was not only a surprise for my mother, but for the kids as well. Upon returning from deployment, I spent months trying to conceal my excitement for the surprise of a lifetime. There are no words to truly express how thankful I am for all the donors that made this wish possible for me and my family. This incredible opportunity is one I'm sure we will never forget. In 2004, I suffered a severe head injury from an accident that resulted from chronic fatigue doing the mission. I thought I was going to die, but after I survived, I gained a better appreciation for taking time for family and living in the present. Last summer VetTix generously supported my family with a trip to Disneyland after a one year deployment and enroute to an overseas assignment. After 6 deployments, my family was able to take a vacation that we will never forget! It was especially special for my 2 children that suffer from social disorders. I am a regular supporter to charities like this, but none has impressed me as much as VetTix. They have a permanent spot in my CFC contributions portfolio and I will never forget what they did for my family. Thank you to all of you that joined VetTix in supporting our wish!

A dream come true family vacation is the exact way I would describe our trip. Thank you Vet Tix and the Hero's Wish coordinators for all the work that goes into this amazing program and opportunity. As a service member who will hit 20 years of service this August I have nothing but gratitude for what the military has done for myself and the life my family and I are afforded. The time away from the family is truly the only hard part of serving and it was incredible to be gifted these lifelong memories. My kids, five and seven years old, had the time of their lives. Above all else, they were most excited to be at Disney World as a family. The memories will surely last a lifetime. My son and I have spent hours sword fighting (souvenirs he chose), my daughter and I made secret hand shakes while waiting for rides and my wife (who as a military spouse, the hardest job of all) was able to take off a few of her hats, unwind and relax while just being a mother. We enjoyed our time together so much and are forever grateful to have been given this experience.
