Is there a better Christmas tradition than taking your family (wife, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter) to the Nutcracker on Christmas week? Not for us! Thank-you VetTix for providing the tickets to a tremendous show. Ballet Chicago is a powerful Ballet School in Chicago since 1987 and they provided a wonderful show. The mission of this school is "right on point." "It is a place where the beauty of one's character is as important as the beauty of one's tendu (basic ballet step), a place where diversity is intentional - where inner city, foster children, middle-class and those of great fortune stand side-by-side, although we will never tell you which is which." They had over 75 dancers and ballerinas last night. Every movement showed the hard work that went into this production. It took place at the historic Athenaeum Theatre. The two-act ballet is about 2 hours long with intermission. It was a delightful performance all-around, the music was magnificent, and there wasn't a bad seat in this older historic venue.
