Past Hero's Wishes
Hi, my name is SSG Brian Valley. I will be home from my third deployment in less than three years at the end of May. I have missed my son’s 2nd and 3rd birthdays and would love to take him and my wife to Marvel Universe LIVE! as a late birthday present. It will have some of my sons favorite Marvel Super Heroes including Spider- Man, Iron Man, Hulk and threatening villains who come to life in an action-packed arena extravaganza that is going to be a once in a lifetime dream come true for my 3 year old son Jackson. The tickets would be $136 a piece for a total of $408 for all three of us. This would be greatly appreciated by me and my wife Amanda but most of all it would make Jackson's late birthday present one he will always remember!!! Thanks To Everyone!!!

My name is SFC Antonio Corona. I am currently deployed in Afghanistan, and am burned out with deployments. This is my second tour here since I last left here in 2011 along with previous tours in Iraq. I try to put on a smile in every deployment. My pain goes out to my loving wife Sabrina, whom I left home alone with my four boys. My boys ages Antonio III(10) Jason(8) Jake(2) and Jayden(1). Yes I left my wife with 2 toddlers, my last deplyment in 2010-11 she was pregnant with Jake, only for me to return home and then we had Jayden. So I been pretty busy, I cannot recall the last time we had an actual full family event. I should return home sometime early in 2014. I would love (6) tickets to Disney World in Orlando for all of us, but if (4)is sufficient, I could pay the rest out of pocket. Thank you for the support and God bless.

Thank You Message from the Hero:
After a long time of planning, my family and I finally visited Walt Disney World. I just recently returned from Afghanistan in March 2014, a few months later a kind donor donated the Corona family Walt Disney World tickets and also visited the in-laws in Orlando. Overall it was a great get away and a vacation my boys will never forget.

Thank you Vet Tix and all the donors who made our wish possible. We truly had the best vacation ever. The trip was a great opportunity to bond as a family again and create amazing memories the kids will cherish forever. The little ones were so happy to meet Elsa and Anna from Frozen and the older girls were happy going on all the rides. The trip has brought us all a little closer and made returning home easier for us. Again, thank you Vet Tix and all the donors for what you have done for our family.

My name is SGT Yascavage, Joshua. I am currently deployed in Kuwait. I have tried to make the best out of every day. It has been a very trying last few months due to my wife Brooke, having heart issues and constantly in the hospital. We have two kids a girl Stella (4) and boy Josh Jr. (1). I missed Christmas, Thanksgiving and will be missing both their birthdays this month. My pain goes out to my loving wife, whom I left home alone with the kids away from her family, and having a hard time trying to juggle the kids and her medical appointments. I should return home sometime in May 2014. I would love (4) park hopper tickets to Disney World in Orlando for all of us. We have been trying to plan this for a while but can only afford the hotel and never the tickets. Thank you for the support and God bless.

My name is Joshua Hall and I am currently serving in the United States Air Force on my third deployment to Afghanistan within the past two years. I will be returning to my duty station in Northwest Florida in a couple weeks and my family will be coming down to welcome me home. My father is retired military having served 20 years in the AF and my brother is also currently serving. I have been playing baseball since I was three years old so my family has grown up around the "diamond", I also played 3 1/2 years of college baseball. Now I play competitive slow pitch, once I return from deployment anyway. I believe I use it as my escape from life stressors and also it helps me return from combat zone to being back home. Again, I would like to thank you for even having the chance to tell you a little about myself. We are originally from the State of Missouri and are all huge St. Louis Cardinals fans. I would love to be able to take them to a game against the Tampa Bay Rays while they are in town. We would require 5 tickets to accommodate everyone in my immediate family but I am beyond grateful for anything I may receive.

Thanks you so much to the Vet Tix organization and their donors. My family and I had an amazing and truly awesome experience at the ball field, even though my Cardinals lost! But hey you can't win them all. It always helps the transition back to everyday life when you get to experience the hobbies you enjoy with the people that you love. I am beyond grateful for the tickets and the memories you created. Thanks again.

My Name is Kevin McMains and I served 11 years and 50 days in uniform. I was a Casualty Liaison NCOIC. I am now retired due to my injuries sustained in Iraq. My story today is not focused on my many overseas tours, but my recovery from being paralyzed by a 120mm rocket blast. We were 3 days shy of coming home from our 16 month deployment to Iraq, when I was hit with a rocket. Unfortunately I did not have my gear on. It twisted my spine like a candy cane. I was going through a rough time emotionally, having to deal with my physical limitations, and a wife that just did not understand what I was going through. She filed for divorce, after 15 years of being together and 3 beautiful daughters. I was a complete wreck. Everything in my life was upside down and heading for rock bottom. One day I had given up and attempted suicide. With the blessings of God, I failed. I did not know what PTSD even was until this moment. I woke up the next morning and realized, I am better than this. My oldest daughter asked me when I was coming home. I told her it might be a long time. The Army was all I knew. I joined when I was 17. My family has a long line of military men and women. The Army saw my progress and placed me in the Warrior Transition Unit, to see what my status would be. I was in the WTU and never could get 100%. While recovering in the WTU, I was a full time daddy, full time soldier, and full time college student. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science. After a long year and some change they decided, it would be best for me to retire. So now I am retired and helping other vets in my small community gain the understanding that even when things are rough, there is that light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how hard it is, we can do it, and they don’t have to do it alone. I am an example to show, I have been there, I understand. I now can walk with the assistance of just a cane and sometimes without depending on the level of pain and mobility. Every day brings a different feeling because of the nerve damage and the body trying to heal itself. Shortly before retirement I met Jewel. She has been my rock to stand on when the ground has been weak. She learned about how to become a caregiver and quickly assumed this role. She did not have a clue about the military when we met and learns new things every day. She brings a daughter and son into the relationship, which brings our kid count to 5. I love kids and would not have it any other way. We just lost our home to a house fire, but we are doing okay. We have been through worse in our lives. I would like to take my family on their first vacation. We already have plane tickets but do not have tickets for Disney World. We would like the park hopper so that we can come and go as we please. We need 7 total sets of tickets as I have 5 kids and a wife.

Thank You Message from the Hero:
We are very grateful for vettixs.org. We needed tickets as another organization who was providing tickets dropped the ball. Vettixs came to the rescue and at the last minute made it happen. Thank you for what you did and what you guys continue to do daily. You made our vacation complete! The memories for these 5 young children are provided partially by you. Thanks for all these memories!!

My name is James Bolling. I have been a huge country music fan since I was little kid. George Strait has always been someone I could listen to his music and relate to him. While Deployed if I play his music it seems to lift the stress off my me. His music calms me and helps me relax after a long day. Listenng to it helps me able to sleep in deployed locations. I am currently deployed until Feb and George put out his final concert series. And having a final concert June 7th at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Texas. I have never been able to attend one of his shows due to conflicts with the military or family and this may be the last chance.

First before anything else thank you for your time in reading this. My name is CW2 Larry Wesgaites and I will soon be returning from Afghanistan. As with all deployments this one has been long and I look forward to coming home to see my wife and family. My family and my wife's family are split between PA and FL and have never had the opportunity to spend time with one another. I would like to get everyone together down in FL and for a few days take the PA gang to Disney as they have never been there before. I am requesting 6 tickets if possible to help offset the high costs of getting everyone down there and taking them out. I thank you for your time and I hope you have a great day/night.

I am CPT William Carroll. I am happily married to my lovely wife, Diana. We have been married for 6 years. We have two wonderful children, my daughter Rose (4) and son Liam (9 months). I left for this deployment when Liam was only 2 weeks old and I barely knew him. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and will be returning in a couple of months. We have booked a vacation to Disney World at Shades of Green (05/23/14 - 06/01/14). Going on this vacation would allow me to spend some time with my son who I really haven't had the chance to meet and it would mean the world to my "Princess" Rose. This would also be a wonderful time to relax with Diana and have fun together as a family. I am asking for 3 (2 adult & 1 child) of the 5-day park-hopper tickets for my family. I have already paid for the reservation at the hotel, but with Diana in her last semester of college money is really tight. Thank you for supporting the Troops!
