Past Hero's Wishes
Hello, I am SPC Sam Pearson, I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, this is my 2nd deployment. My first deployment was with 10th Mountain Division, conducting route clearance with combat engineers, this deployment I am with the Infantry out of Fort Bliss. My first time away from 2 of my kids, My wife and I have 3 together. Two of them were born between the first deployment and this one. As far as our children, One is currently 5 months old, and the other is nearly two. And the third has just turned 5. None of my family, including myself have ever been to Disney World, or even Florida. And we have figured it would be a dream trip upon my return. I am looking to take my family on a trip to Disney World.

I would like to thank Vettix, the Seattle Seahawks and the 13 individual donors for my Hero's Wish. I had an amazing time with my family being able to go on the field for the pre-game practice and the seats were great. The game did not go as we liked Seattle Seahawks losing but it was a great time. Thank you for making it possible for us to attend. Alan Humphrey III

My name is GySgt Justin Bond. It'll be 17 years of service come this August 2017. The toughest part about being in the military is leaving your biggest support system...my family sacrifices so much for my career. I am currently deployed in Spain and will not return until August sometime (7 months gone). We are a larger family and have not had the funds to take our children on a family vacation since getting married 8 years ago. I would love to be able to surprise our 4 kids with a trip to Disneyland to try to make up for all the missed birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. I would like to make a Hero's wish to request (5) Disneyland 3-day park hopper tickets for my family; My wife Rebecca and our 4 kids; Juni 15, Nicky 10, Jacob 4 and Elsie 2. We would love to take this trip in October 2017. Any sort of contribution will help our family greatly and we would be eternally grateful. Thank you and God Bless.

My name is Sergeant Troy Thomas. I am currently post-deployment from my second tour in Afghanistan. I am working my way into being more comfortable in crowds and social settings. I am a HUGE Formula One fan and missed most of the past few seasons due to deployments. I have not been to Austin, TX to see the new facility or a race and I would love to take my wife and experience F1, one of my favorite sports. I would like to respectfully request tickets for the practice and qualifying sessions, along with the actual race. Regardless of what I may receive, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my love of F1 and I appreciate your consideration.

What an incredible experience! My wife and I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to COTA, as well as the following donors: David, Douglas, Michael, Dorothy, Thomas, Freddie, Mark, Alexis, and Stefan. Without their support, we would not have been able to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience. With the help of our family, we were able to fly to Austin and stay for the entire F1 weekend. The staff at COTA went out of their way to make this a memorable experience with great seats in Turn 15. We also had an opportunity to tour the grounds, do all of the Formula One experiences, and attend the Justin Timberlake concert on Saturday night. It was also incredibly helpful to have such great parking available with our race tickets! Parking allowed us to leave quickly following the race and make our return flight home on Sunday evening. Thank you again so much for this absolutely incredible experience. I never expect or demand any praise for serving my country, so this goes above and beyond. Thank you again from my wife and me for this amazing vacation. Sincerely, Sgt. Troy Thomas

I am the father of Sgt. Clinton K. Ruiz. Clint was killed in action on 10/25/2012 in Khas Uruzgan Afghanistan while serving with the United States Army in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I am a Gold Star Father and I would like to take a severely combat wounded veteran to see our favorite teams compete. Sgt. Geoffrey Quevedo lost an arm and a leg in an IED blast in Afghanistan in 2012 and I lost my son that same year. Geoffrey and I have become close over the last several years. Geoffrey is a Raider fan and I, along with my son, Charger fans. Geoffrey has never seen the Raiders play in Oakland and I would like to take him to see a game before they move to Las Vegas.

My name is SSG Wesley Bevel. I have served both with the US Navy and Currently with the United States Army. I want nothing more than to get home to my 5 kiddos and wife. They have wished to visit Disney World when Dad gets home and it would mean the world to us and them to make this dream come true. Our daughter 10 and sons 8,6,4 and 1 live for the heroes and fantasy Disney brings. Maybe we can make this happen. I can't thank you all enough for what you give to making dreams fulfilled for so many families especially those as large as ours. Our kiddos are so strong and I couldn't think of a better way to have some fun and re-bond after this deployment. Thanks Y'all

My name is PFC Jeffery Taylor. I joined the US Army to become a 13 bravo, which is mechanized infantry, I wanted to shoot the big guns and attended Ft Sill Oklahoma for training and then was stationed at Ft. Stewart GA. With the 3rd infantry division. I was deployed to Kuwait in January 2003 and was in the initial invasion of Iraq in March. I was wounded on 4 April 2003 and my wife Tracy Taylor's life changed when she received a phone call all Army Wives dread"”that her husband, PFC Jeffery Taylor had been critically injured in Iraq. Details were vague at the time, but the Army advised Tracy that I had survived an attack just outside the Bagdad Airport during the invasion of Iraq. During an attack, my Tracked vehicle was up-ended by enemy mortar causing a weight difference. The shift in weight caused the vehicle to roll over an embankment into a water-filled canal. The vehicle sank to the bottom and I along with my crew members was trapped. Despite my leg being crushed and pinned down, I was able to keep my mouth and nose above the water as it filled the vehicle. I was rescued, but my crew members perished. Today, I suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), left leg nerve damage, and hearing loss. I was the sole survivor and received a purple heart on that particular mission. I was discharged from the Army in the beginning of 2004 and have been receiving treatment ever since that night. I have always dreamed of seeing Jack Johnson in concert but could never afford to go. He mostly plays in Hawaii which I could never afford to travel there which has also always been a dream of mine to visit. I learned that he is coming to St. Augustine and it would be a dream come true for me to see him. I would love to meet him but just to be able to see him would be great. My wish is for 4 tickets to see Jack Johnson in concert in St Augustine FL on Oct 2nd or 3rd.

My father has been right by her side the whole time even during the birth. I would like to bless them both for their strength during my absence. X,, It has always been her dream to go to see the Seahawks in person in Seattle.

Thank you so much for the tickets to the Seahawks game on October 1st. It was such an amazing experience for my wife and father to go together and relax after all the hard times they have had while I've been deployed. To those that donated to help make this possible I cannot thank you enough. You really made my wife's birthday special in a way I couldn't with bring it if the country on my deployment. Thank you again!
- Philip

My name is SrA Cody Whitford. I'm an Air Traffic Controller in the USAF. Currently, I am deployed to Northern Iraq supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. I have been deployed here since Feb and will return early Sept. Being granted these tickets would really let me kick back and relax after a long/stressful duration away from my family. My wife has been a great mother to our eight-month-old son when I was gone and this would really unite us back as a family. What a better way than to hang out in Tampa Bay and see some good Chicago sports! Thank you for your support and Go Cubs!
