Past Hero's Wishes
My name is Thomas Hopkins. I am a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. As I prepare to return home from a six month deployment, I'd love the opportunity to treat my family to a performance of the Broadway musical, Hamilton. My devoted wife, my selfless mother, who lives with us, and our two daughters, ages 15 and 12, have sacrificed a lot over the course of my 19-year military career. My girls have wanted to see Hamilton since the production opened in 2015. Unfortunately, tickets are in high demand, and difficult to obtain. My wife, mother, and daughters are my heroes, and although I can't make up for all the missed holidays, birthdays, and special occasions, I humbly request this opportunity to show my appreciation for all they have endured in service to our great nation. My Heroes Wish is for five theater tickets, to accommodate all the members of my family, living in my household; my wife, mother, two daughters, and myself. I will be home and available by February 8, 2019, and will be grateful for any performance date thereafter.

I am a member of the Ohio Army National Guard that was called up to active duty shortly after our wedding and deployed over our first wedding anniversary. My wife and I have been together going on five years now, she is my best friend and the love of my life. This was my second deployment but it was her first. She handled all of life's speed bumps while I was deployed and id it with a smile. She managed a new home, our son, finances for both of us, and all of this while also working a stressful full time job. When I returned home I went almost immediately right back to work and life just never allowed us to do anything to celebrate our marriage or even the first anniversary of our vows. She is an amazing woman and HUGE country music fan. I would love to give her tickets to either Luke Combs or Chris Young. I don't think anything I could ever do or say would ever fully show how much I truly love and appreciate everything she does to allow me to do what I do. We live in Columbus Oh and type of extended travel would be out of the question with our son back in school. Luke Combs will be in Columbus come February and she would love to be able to go, and if it's possible get to meet Luke. From the bottom of my heart I would appreciate any help in making this happen for her.

My name is MSgt Christopher Hess. I am currently deployed overseas until next year in Niger supporting the base's MWR program. When I get home I would like to surprise my family with the opportunity to spend 4-5 days at Walt Disney World. Over the past three years me and my family have been working through the after effects of a car accident my wife suffered. She was struck from behind and suffered a concussion, which resulted in her being off work for awhile. We have been grateful for opportunities provided by Vet Tix to go to events but I would like to use my one Hero's Wish for my wife and two daughters. I would be grateful for the opportunity to give them 4-5 days that they will never forget.

My name is CPT Matthew Rongey. I am coming up on the end of a 9+ month deployment, flying and overseeing operations in combat under Task Force ODIN in Afghanistan. During this time, my fiancee has been taking care of things back home, working full time, and planning our wedding. On top of all of that, she has been so strong and supportive of me while I'm away. My wish is to attend the NFC Conference Championship game, if the Saints play at home on 20 January. My fiancee and I have never been to a NFL playoff game, and we are both big football fans. Fulfillment of this wish would help me show her my gratitude.

Thanks to you, my fiance and I were able to attend the Rams-Saints playoff game in New Orleans shortly after my return from deployment. We had a great time at the event and were able to spend some quality time together over the weekend after a long 9 1/2 months apart.

My name is SPC/CPL Jimmy Wiles. I have been disabled for 14 years since being hit by an IED in Iraq, I was in a hospital bed for over 4 months in Germany following my injury in the field. I have been in pain for many years. I will be undergoing major surgery on my right knee in January 2019. My left knee also will require surgery. I will need extensive rehab to get back on my feet as the surgery is unprecedented for my age. On July 7, 2004 in Iraq, my life changed, I was the driver of the lead vehicle in the convoy returning to our operating base when an IED was detonated and injured myself and 3 others. I was able to guide the vehicle to a stop safely, with extensive damage to my right leg and offer support the others with cover fire until help arrived. Not a day goes by that I don't remember the blast and its affect on my life. My wish would be to see my favorite Pro Basketball team the Utah Jazz. I have always gone to Jazz games in the nosebleed section and never had the opportunity to appreciate a game from the lower levels. My dream is for my wife and I to be able to see our favorite team play from some really good seats

My name is SFC Kevin Dewey. I have been active duty Army for 22 years and just completed my 13th deployment. This deployment was extra hard on my wife and daughter as they gave up everything to join me at my new duty station just months before I left for Iraq. My wife has been unsuccessful in finding a job in our new town and has been worrying constantly about every little thing. She supports me in everything I do without complaint. My family shares a love of everything Harry Potter. It is my wish to take them to Universal Studios and Universal Adventure Island to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the parks. I would love to be able to take them during the Christmas break as last Christmas was an exceptionally difficult one for many reasons. Christmas is supposed to be a time for families and I want to be able to take mine on a dream vacation to allow my wife time to relax and spend some much needed fun time with my daughter. My name is 1LT Steven Sexton and I am currently deployed with the 79 Infantry Brigade Combat Team in support of Operation Joint Guardian. As it stands now, I will be home just in time for Christmas, therefore my wish is for 4 Disneyland/California Park hopper tickets so I can celebrate a special holiday season with my family when I return. Once this deployment is completed; of my first 29 months in the service I will have been away from my family for 16 of those months. Through it all, my wife has been very supportive each time I have had to leave for deployment, schools or state emergency, all while holding down a full-time job as a first grade teacher and taking care of our two energetic daughters. So this wish is not just for me but for my family who I believe deserve a special gift for the holidays. Thank you.

Especially grateful are my two girls as they were able to fill their autograph books with Disney characters and meet every princess at the park because we were there for four full days. My wife Lindsey wants to thank VETTIX and all the donors as well as she was able to meet the Disney character she never got to meet as a child, Mary Poppins! I can't thank you enough for fulfilling our wish. It was an experience that we will never forget.

My name is SSgt Luke Jones and I am currently deployed. I have a lifelong dream to take my wife and my parents to see a Vikings game in Minnesota. We are HUGE Vikings fans and it would be a dream come true. Since I was a child I've always wanted to beat the drum or blow the horn before the game. November 24 is my wife's birthday and I would love to take her to the November 26 Sunday Night game vs the Green Bay Packers. March of last year my brother passed away unexpectedly and at the one year mark I was deploying. It has been a rough year on my whole family and my biggest wish would be to bring smiles to my parents faces.

I am CW3 Dennis White, a member of the Indiana National Guard with the 38th Sustainment Brigade, currently serving in Kuwait in support of several operations. I have been blessed to serve my State and this great Nation for over 23 years. I am married to Angela and have three boys Shad, Jaden and Brenner as well as a sweet girl, Brayleigh. All of my kids and especially my wife, have made countless sacrifices in order for me to serve. I have missed countless anniversaries (2 back to back these past years), birthdays, and a majority of my son's Senior year in High School. I also coach sports for my hometown school, Paul Hadley Middle School, as a lay coach and have missed this years sports teams and the ability to coach and mentor young student athletes. I really want to represent them and my family well while serving and want to take my family to Disney as a thank you for their enduring sacrifices they make so that I can do the job I love. I would love to take the family to Disney World after my deployment. The past year even for the train up has been non-stop with over 8 weeks on and off of training and now this deployment. Would love to be able to spend time with my family of 6 at Disney World. We have had to table trips because of many other time demanding events and need some away time as a family. It would be a true privilege to receive this Wish of 6, 5 day Armed Forces Salute tickets in order to treat my family to a well deserved get away.
