Past Hero's Wishes
My name is SGT Luis Montillas. I have been with the Connecticut Army National Guard for 12 years. I am presently deployed in Afghanistan and I am scheduled to return from my 3rd deployment (once Iraq, twice Afghanistan) early fall. My family, two children 9, 16, and wife have supported me throughout the 12 years of service and multiple deployments, but this deployment has been the hardest for them. My son who is 9 has been affected by it the most. It has been hard for him to video chat with me over the last year, because it makes him sad that I am away and can not do the things we normally do together. I would love to be able to take my family on a vacation to Florida and visit Universal Studios for 5 days, during the kids winter or spring break in 2021. This would mean the world to my family as they have always wanted to visit Universal Studios, and most importantly to my son who is a huge Transformer and Jurassic Park fan. With the pandemic, and my 12 month deployment in 2020, looking forward to Universal in 2021 was the light at the end of the tunnel that my family used to keep their spirits up. My family and I had a great time during our Family Vacation to Universal Studios. We were able to go to Universal every day during our 5 day trip allowing us to enjoy everything Universal had to offer. It was a great experience for my family, and it gave us memories that will last a lifetime. Once again I want to thank everyone involved in making My Hero's Wish happen, without your support this amazing experience would have never happen.

I have just returned from a 9 month deployment to Iraq and Syria. My wife has held down our household and navigated the COVID pandemic by herself while caring for our two children and attending school full-time to become a nurse. This deployment has been far from easy but we are grateful we made it through. The next several months will be filled with new challenges and changes. Our wish is to take a family trip to visit Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL before I begin a new assignment in two months and we PCS from NC to TX. We are requesting four 4-Day Park Hopper tickets to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Thank you in advance!

Hello all! My name is Jamie. I am a husband and father of three. My wife and three kids has been my biggest supporters along the way. They have served just as much as I have in the past 15 years of my career, yet I do not feel they get nearly as much recognition. I would love to be able to show them my appreciation for all of their support these past years. To be able to take them on a post deployment vacation to either, Disney or Universal Studios, in Orlando would be the best way for all of us to reconnect, make new memories, and make up for all I have missed out on the past 7 months. God Bless America, my name is SSgt Andrew Rux, I am currently deployed to the Middle East as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. I hope to return home around the middle of December if we do not get extended again. It has been my dream to take my wife and two children to Disney World for a trip they will never forget. Money has always been tight with a trip so expensive. My family has been incredibly supportive and strong during my deployment. I would live to show my appreciation by making their dreams come true. Growing up, it was always my dad's wish to take us to the Disney parks in Orlando. We were a family of 6, so it wasn't easy to coordinate or plan on an enlisted soldier's budget. When I was 13, that desire was made impossible, as my dad was killed in action while on convoy near Haditha, Iraq. Now, with two little boys of my own, my dream is to fulfill that family experience with my own young children. We would be greatly appreciative of any help to make that dream a reality. My name is SSgt. James Mullennix. I am currently deployed and will be returning home in July. My wish would be to have my family and I be able to take a family trip to Disney World once I get back from my deployment as they had moved my deployment date up to miss both my eldest's birthday celebration and Christmas. I have been married for over 10 years and we have two wonderful daughters Autumn (8) and Merida (6). In 2018 we were displaced by Hurricane Michael, a category 5 hurricane that made direct landfall on our base, destroying Tyndall and our home. Shortly after that, a drunk driver totaled my wife's car. We spent the year following that trying to get settled in only to find that I would be deploying and possibly moving again in the fall of 2020 to a new assignment. I want my family to experience the magic of Disney World, and to know that there can be fun and peace where no one worries, even if only for a short time. Thank you for your consideration in making my family's dreams come true.

My name is SSG Kevin Dubois. I have been a solider in the US ARMY for almost 9 years. I have had 2 deployments. I just recently returned from a 9 month deployment to Iraq. During deployment I missed my daughter's 3rd birthday and the only thing she has asked for is to got to Disney when I got home. Our money is tight because we are paying off debt so we can buy a home in a few years. So my wish is to take my 3 year old daughter and wife to Disney during my Christmas vacation.
