I wore black in support of my Commodores, whose games I started attending in 1970 when I enrolled in grad school. My guests were not equally on board, with one sporting a Georgia jersey and two going with Kentucky blue and white. Still, we all enjoyed the game (especially the Wildcat fans who saw their team prevail). And I'm thankful for the way Vanderbilt recognizes and features the military, including the helicopter flyover from Fort Campbell and the subsequent introduction of the pilots and crew members on the field at half-time.
