Are there guidelines to adhere to when fundraising for Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix)?
Can Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) issue a receipt for goods or services donated to a Vet Tix Proud Supporter event?

Are there guidelines to adhere to when fundraising for Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix)?

Can Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) issue a receipt for goods or services donated to a Vet Tix Proud Supporter event?

Vet Tix cannot issue tax receipts for the value of an individual's time, goods or services donated to a Vet Tix Proud Supporter event as these items are not deductible under federal tax law, and therefore is not eligible for a tax receipt.

Can  Vet Tix issue a receipt for purchases of admission tickets, drawing tickets, and auction items?

Vet Tix will provide a tax deductable acknowledgement for donations made directly to Vet Tix. Vet Tix cannot issue a receipt for purchases of admission tickets, drawing tickets and auction items as there is a good or service exchanged.

Can Vet Tix issue a receipt for my event sponsors?

Vet Tix cannot issue tax receipts for your event sponsors, nor can Vet Tix accept sponsor funds and funnel those funds back to the event organizer.
 
What percentage of the funds I raise as a Vet Tix Proud Supporter go to the Tickets for Troops Program?

We continuously strive to keep administrative and fundraising costs associated with the operation of the Veteran Tickets Foundation as low as possible thus maximizing the funds available to fund the "Tickets for Troops" program offered by Vet Tix. Based on our FY2008 ending on December 31, 2008 audited financial statements, $.91 of every dollar donated went to provide free tickets to our nations  Veterans, Active Duty Service Members and their families. With your assistance we hope to elevate our percentage next year. We continue to maintain that percentage and work to improve that percentage.

Is Vet Tix a legitimate charity? Can I obtain a copy of your tax determination letter?

The Veteran Tickets Foundation was granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service functioning as a charity under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Donations to the organization are deductible as charitable contributions.   Vet Tix’s Federal I.D. number for donations is: #26-2291955.

Supporters at my event may want to find out more about Vet Tix – How can they do this?

Please point them to the "contact us" section on our website. Supporters can list their contact information. When you send the proceeds from your event to Vet Tix – be sure to include collected information so that we can spread awareness to our new supporters.
 
Can you provide information and materials for our event?

Yes, after you fill out "contact us" form to register your event. The website also has several multimedia features, including videos and podcasts, which you can share online.

Can information about my event be posted on the Vet Tix website?

Of course! We would love to feature your fundraising event on our website. We first must to approve the fundraiser and then we can put it up on our website. Please contact us and we can discuss your event.

Can Vet Tix provide me with a list of local Veterans, Active Duty Service Members, supporters or spokespersons?

Vet Tix cannot provide you with a list of Veterans, Active Duty Service Members, supporters or spokespersons due to privacy issues.

Can I organize a raffle or an auction for Vet Tix?

Regulations governing raffles differ from state to state and are often times quite burdensome. Please check with your local attorney or State Official office for your state regulations. An auction to benefit Vet Tix is permissible.

Can Vet Tix refund me for some of my expenses?

Vet Tix cannot refund any expenses related to externally instigated and managed fundraising events.

Can Vet Tix send a representative to my event?

In some instances, Vet Tix can provide a speaker or representative for a special event. Due to the demand on our staff representatives, however, we cannot guarantee a presence at your event. If you would like to request a speaker, email the details of the special event to support@VetTix.org . Be sure to include date, location, audience and the expected number of attendees. All travel and lodging costs incurred by the speaker or representative will be the sole responsibility of the Vet Tix Proud Supporter and will need to be paid in advance.

Can I use the Vet Tix logo to advertise my event?

No problem. If you would like to use our Vet Tix logo for the purpose of advertising your event, please be sure to submit your material beforehand for approval.

What events do you have in my area?

How can I volunteer at an event?

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! For volunteer opportunities at fundraisers in your area, please refer to our calendar of events. Please fill out our Volunteer Form to be updated and informed of events, campaigns, and initiatives you can be a part of.

Can I create a Personalized Donation Page?

Not at this time. Please direct them to www.VetTix.org to make a monatary donation.  It's the safest and most secure way to do this.
